The European Workshop on Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics of Solid Tumors is one of the most relevant cancer research meetings in Europe. The workshop will take place at the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre, Nijmegen, The Netherlands.During previous workshops we have witnessed the emergence of novel insights into the role of chromosomal abnormalities and gene mutations in the development of both hereditary and non-hereditary human solid tumors. Now we are moving into a new era in which comprehensive sequence-based information on vast numbers of tumors can be obtained. Such information will provide us with detailed perspectives on how individual tumors develop. Additionally, this information can be employed for the generation of novel diagnostic and prognostic markers and the design of novel therapeutic strategies.
NIJMEGEN, THE NETHERLANDS, 3-6 JUNE 2010
Invited speakers: Mike Stratton (UK), René Bernards (Netherlands), Ian Tomlinson (UK), Gilles Thomas (France), Jan Hoeijmakers (Netherlands), Bryan Young (UK), Larissa Savelyeva (Germany), Ileana Zucchi (Italy), Manon van Engeland (Netherlands), Stephan Beck (UK) and Henk Stunnenberg (Netherlands) are all leading, world-renowned scientists. They will present the latest findings on the cancer genome, the cancer methylome, the cancer fragilome and the cancer transcriptome.
